Why Circadian?

Advancements in science and technology, at the cusp of the third industrial revolution, need to keep pace with society, people, and the environment. Most scientific research and funding led by Governments globally, is demanding to factor in, the impact on society; the impact on SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals), and the impact on Gender. For the Corporates, it is mandatory to comply with and report on ESG (Environment Social Governance).

In addition, in August 2023, the Government of India enacted The Anusandhan National Research Foundation Act 2023 through an Act of Parliament. The act formally integrates social sciences & and humanities, as part of all its research activities and funding - including those in Science and Technology.

Increasingly technology professionals like engineers, computer scientists, or business owners will need to work with Social science professionals. Both sides find it challenging to collaborate owing to the complexity of research, lack of common frameworks to work on, and a catalyst actor who understands the language of both science and society.

Sustainability through SDGs, Gender in STEM research, ESG (Environmental and Social Governance) and Impact Measurement will need skilled professionals in India. ESG is a mandated compliance for corporates as per the Ministry of Corporate Affairs in India. ESG, Sustainability & Impact measurement market to cross $30bn by 2030. The demand for ESG experts may miss meeting its supply, unless there are agile professionals like us, in addition to the Big 5 Consulting, who can fill this need gap.

It is here that Circadian Connect's research solutions offer value, as a versatile professional partner. We use the science of institutions in a framework that brings diverse actors and offers solutions that are bottom-up effective and sustainable, beyond techno-cratic or only technology solutions that face resistance on the ground. We offer solutions using context identification for technology businesses needing social scoping studies, STEM projects in Universities needing SDG or gender experts, Government Science & Technology Departments needing social evaluation or sustainability experts, venture capital and start-up ecosystems, corporate ESG boards, and social policy programmes in various sectors.

We want to contribute to building institutions (rules and norms), that are equitable and sustainable within the rights framework, so that programmes and policies give voice and benefits to the most vulnerable in a context, with the least harm.

Our Vision

The company's vision is to become India’s foremost global science-society solutions provider by 2030. We are driven by the purpose of making Social Science, Humanities & Arts work for People and the Environment for maximising development impact and gender equity, using scientific frameworks that incorporate social actors and institutions!
