Our track in Governance has included the following:​

  • Improving delivery of public programmes' by analyzing their governance structures;

  • Performance and Impact evaluations 

  • Advisory on Public-private Partnerships;

  • Risk Assessment and mitigation strategies;
     

One of the innovative and experimental governance reforms project that the founder has experience in is the Outcome Budget & Social Audits, with the Government of Maharashtra. Outcome Budgets were perceived as report cards of the government and hence politically risky when the draft Outcome Budget report was presented in the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly in 2007.  Read More.

Outcome Budget with 32 government schemes across 11 departments was published as a special issue of TISS’s in-house journal - the Indian Journal of Social Work (IJSW). In fact, Social Audits were institutionalized by the CAG (Comptroller and Auditor General of India) in 2011, demonstrating the impact of such a policy work. Read more

 

Report on Narmada Sardar Sarovar Dam presents the longest litigation case from India’s independence, from a scientific and humanitarian lens. A report by TISS Mumbai was released in Bhopal by actor Shabana Azmi and advised against increasing the height of the dam. Here is the link to the report Click here

Urban Development defied the need for Mumbai to become Shanghai, and remain true to its trajectory, steered by the Observer Research Foundation, ORF Mumbai. The research is available in the Book published by McMillan and is running into its third edition, titled ‘Mumbai Vision 2015: An Agenda for Urban Renewal”. See Here.
